International Development Information Organization-DevNet

International Development Information Organization (IDIO) is a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit Organization, with special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. It aims to promote trade exchanges, technology transfer, economic cooperation and cultural exchanges among developing and developed countries, and encourage developing countries to participate in regional and international economy activities.

As a United Nations NGO, IDIO would be invited to hundreds of United Nations High-level International conferences every year, including General Assembly convened by the President, High-Level Political Forum, Development Cooperation Forum, Annual Ministerial Review, Civil Society Conferences and regular conferences and events of United Nations entities. Topics cover ICT, climate change, women empowerment, global education, human settlement, partnership, youth engagement, financing for sustainable development. For example: on September 25, 2015, IDIO was invited to attend the 70^th United Nations General Assembly and Sustainable Development Summit, gathered with more than 150 heads of states, main leaders of the United Nations and NGO representatives, to communicate and discuss the sustainable development agenda for the following 15 years.

The mission of International Development Information Organization

The mission of IDIO is to contribute to the human’s sustainable development under the framework of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and Sustainable Development Goals; to promote a culture where rights would match opportunities through developing new skills of disadvantaged social groups; to promote gender equality and endow the female and youth with rights so as to wipe out poverty and exercise democratic governance; to strengthen corporations’ competitiveness, assist development of all parts and raise public consciousness about social and environmental accountability by the application of information and communication technology; to advance economic integration between developing countries and developed countries; to establish partner networks among corporations, and form an integrated network society for promoting economic development in developing countries; to encourage sustainable development all over the world.

International Development Information Organization-World Expo

In 2010, as the participant international organization of 2010 Shanghai World Expo, IDIO run a stand-alone pavilion in the International Organizations Area. Together with the Shanghai Expo theme”Better City, Better Life”, IDIO illustrates the concept “Rescue City and Harmonious Living, Integration of International Exchange and Cooperation” with various ways of “pavilion-within-pavilion”, drives the success of Expo projects, and promotes international cooperation of culture, technology, economy and trade. Through 2010 Shanghai Expo, the pavilion exhibited the development achievements over 100 countries and collected tens of thousands international high-tech projects. The exhibition of environmental protection, energy saving, high technology as well as rescue city and harmonious living organically combines the innovation of city technologies, community construction, economic prosperity and so on.

International Development Information Organization-China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS)

In May, 2012, IDIO with its stand-alone pavilion participated in the first CIFTIS, co-organized by China’s Ministry of Commerce and Beijing Municipal Government, and jointly organized the High-Level Forum on Chinese Culture and Trade Development which has won great success.

International Development Information Organization-Porcelain Plates Donation

On September 17, 2015, IDIO donates the 8 Porcelain Plates of the Chinese Peace-keeping Police martyred in Haiti to the Shanghai Police Museum, which aims to promote the spirits of Peace-keeping Police and the pursuit of peace through the platform of Museum.

International Development Information Organization-High level Conferences

On December 16^th, 2015, under the leadership of Mr. Li Shien, the Chairman, IDIO delegation attended the high-level meeting of World Summit on Information Society convened by the United Nations, and communicated with other representatives presented at the meeting on key topics how information and communication technologies(ICT) can provide better services, how to reduce the gap between developed countries and developing countries in terms of ICT, and how to ensure women and disadvantaged groups rights of benefiting from ICT.

On January 1^st, 2016, IDIO held the “World Summit on Science and Technology of Human Settlements”, which aims to combine relevant enterprises and platforms of global human settlements industry to promote the quality of global human settlements and build an ecological, safe, scientific and sustainable living environment under the framework of the Millennium and Sustainable Development Goals.

On May 30^th, 2016, IDIO participated at the 66^th United Nations DPI/NGO Conference. With the theme” Education for Global Citizenship: Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals Together”, representatives of Governments, private sectors and civil societies discussed how to cooperate with each other on the education for global citizenship and support the implementation of SDGs.

From June 5 to 9, IDIO was invited to the first UN Ocean Conference. During the Conference, IDIO organized a side event with the theme “Maritime Silk Road Promotes the Sustainable Development of the Ocean” and an exhibition of “Ocean Crisis: Saving and Hope-Thinking and Actions from the Oriental”, participated in 8 plenary meetings, 7 partnership dialogues, 20 side events and submitted 3 voluntary commitments. Besides, Li Shien, President of IDIO, delivered a speech on the Maritime Silk Road as the representative of global NGOs, which all demonstrate the willing of non-government organizations in the sustainable development of the ocean.

International Development Information Organization-Future Development

Under the framework of the United Nations development agenda and the SDGs, with the leadership by Mr. Li Shien, the Chairman and Director of IDIO, the Organization will continuously release its potential, join hands with governments, civil societies and enterprises, and organize various conferences and events advocating sustainable development of human beings to contribute our part to the early implementations of SDGs and One Belt & One Road initiative as well as the blueprint of Chinese Dream.
